(NaturalHealth365) In 1942, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) created a short propaganda film entitled, Hemp for Victory – which promoted the value of hemp and exactly how to produce it. In fact, the government wanted American farmers to grow more hemp – why not now?
The U.S. government calls hemp farmers ‘patriotic’ – by stating:
”In 1942, patriotic farmers at the government request planted 36,000 acres of seed hemp – an increase of several thousand percent.”
Today, no American farmer can (legally) grow hemp – which begs the question – why the change of heart? Is there a sinister reason for all this? You be the judge – watch the video below and keep reading.
A stolen hemp heritage exposed
Hemp production would contribute greatly to American self-sufficiency; there would less war; we would become much less dependent on foreign oil imports, and most importantly, we would have a abundant food supply and rich (healthy) soil.
Greedy, multinational corporations would like you to ignore these facts:
1. Hemp Seed is extremely nutritious and could end famine.
2. The hydrocarbons in hemp can be processed into a wide range of biomass energy sources, from fuel pellets to liquid fuels and gas.
In fact, hemp can significantly reduce our consumption of fossil fuels and nuclear power.
4. Henry Ford’s first Model-T was built to run on hemp gasoline. The car was constructed from hemp with the plastic panels of the car 10 times stronger than steel according to Popular Mechanics in 1941.
5. The U.S. government predicted, by the 1940s, that all paper would come from hemp, so no more trees would be cut down for this purpose; one acre of hemp equals 4.1 acres of trees.
6. Hemp grows well without herbicides, fungicides, or pesticides. Almost half of the agricultural chemicals used on U.S. crops are applied to cotton.
7. High quality paints and varnishes were made from hemp seed oil until 1937.
8. Eco-friendly hemp can replace most toxic petrochemical products.
How did corporate greed and corruption destroy hemp?
America’s first marijuana law was enacted at Jamestown Colony, Virginia in 1619. This law actually ‘ordered’ all farmers to grow Indian hempseed. In fact, you could be jailed for not growing hemp during times of shortages in Virginia between 1763 and 1767.
In the past, hemp was legal tender and was allowed as a way to pay government taxes. Can you imagine what the Rockefeller or Rothschild family would say about hemp?
The United States Census of 1850 counted 8,327 hemp ‘plantations’ (minimum 2,000-acre farm) growing cannabis hemp for cloth, canvas and even the cordage used for baling cotton. In 1850, paper mills started making huge profits from manufacturing paper from trees, using dangerous and toxic substances such as sulphites and chlorine.
This is where corporate greed killed hemp production – in the United States
In the 1920’s, DuPont was experimenting with synthetics. By 1937, we witnessed the banning of hemp farming – under the Marijuana Tax Act. At the same time, DuPont was patenting nylon.
After 1937, a massive campaign effort was put play to frighten the public. Marijuana, hemp and cannabis were described as a ‘highly addictive and toxic drug’ which induced ‘reefer madness’. Posters were put on trams in New York to brainwash the public.
My final thoughts are simple – we should end the prohibition of hemp in the United States. Now, more than ever, we need to create and support healthy industries – like hemp production. It’s good for the earth and its citizens.
