High Carb Diet News(NaturalHealth365) For many years, high carb diets have been pushed as a healthier way of eating. Millions of people have been told that fatty food is “evil” – and should not be considered a healthy food choice. So why is the obesity epidemic growing – each and every day?

Generally speaking, a low fat (or no fat) diet is actually very unhealthy for most people. In fact, as you study the subject, you quickly come to realize how essential fat is for optimal health.

The true cause of obesity and chronic disease

In 1900, only 1 in 50 people were obese; by 1950, 9.7 percent of Americans were obese, and now, two-thirds of Americans are either overweight or obese. Something is very wrong with this picture.

If government-sponsored health agencies really cared about its citizens – they would stop the production of highly-processed, sugar laced junk foods – immediately. It’s the sugar and highly-processed (toxic) fats that are slowly killing people. Yet, too many spineless politicians and mindless “healthcare” professionals remain silent about the (legal) production of disease-causing, sugary foods.

A poor diet is the greatest threat to our children

Make no mistake about it – all of our children are under attack, but it’s not from assault weapons. Fast food, French fries and soda damage brain cells; the immune system and cause more death than all guns ever produced.

For example, have you heard about the latest “invention” by PEPSICO? It’s called “Kickstart” and the company describes it as a “new sparkling juice beverage from Mountain Dew®.” This drink is loaded with artificial sweeteners, phosphoric acid and caffeine. Yet, the company says this beverage is: “a refreshing and energizing take on your morning routine”.

Are you kidding me?! Let’s turn our attention to more wholesome, organic food – including healthy fats.

Saturated fat offers a variety of healthy benefits

In a randomized, double-bind study comparing the effects of coconut oil and polyunsaturated vegetable soybean oil in women with abdominal obesity, women who consumed coconut oil had a significant reduction in waist circumference and no change in cholesterol levels. The women in the vegetable oil group had no change in their waist size and had an increase in their LDL (bad) cholesterol and a reduction in HDL (good) cholesterol.

Adequate levels of saturated fat help reduce levels of lipoprotein, a risk factor for heart disease and there aren’t any drugs that can do this without significant negative side effects.

Lipoprotein is very similar to LDL cholesterol and having high levels, circulating in your blood, places you at a higher risk of developing heart disease. These lipoproteins form within the liver; then enter the bloodstream and accumulate under the inner lining of arteries – promoting inflammation and the formation of foam cells. Lipoprotein also contains a component similar to a blood clotting protein which contributes to clot formation.

If you want to avoid heart disease – eat healthy fats as part of a healthy diet.

Build stronger bones with (healthy) saturated fats

To absorb calcium – you need adequate levels of saturated fats in your system.

As women have been told to reduce saturated fat with processed vegetable oils – the rate of osteoporosis has gone up. According to one of the foremost research experts in dietary fats and human health, Mary Enig, Ph.D dietary fats are necessary for this reason alone. So, if your doctor thinks your brittle bones can be fixed with a prescription drug (and not nutrition) – find another doctor!

Trans fats can destroy your ability to breath properly

Lungs are coated with a slippery substance made up of saturated fats, and replacing the proper amount of this fat with other types of processed fats can cause respiratory distress. By the way, there is some research which suggests that the increased use of partially hydrogenated (trans) fats has played a significant role in the rise of asthma in children.

When are we going to face facts – fast food restaurants have done more damage to people – by pushing those French fries – than any assault weapon ever created. Yet, the lame-stream media chooses to ignore the truth.

Even our brain is made up of fats and cholesterol, mainly saturated fat. A diet low in saturated fats deprives the brain of the building blocks needed for proper cellular repair and cognitive function. Maybe this explains why our political leaders seem to lack any intelligence at all about how to help people live better lives.

A natural way to boost your immune system

Saturated fats found in grass fed butter and coconut oil play a key role in immune health. Our immune system needs a sufficient supply of saturated fatty acids to help white blood cells recognize and destroy foreign invaders, such as virus, bacteria and fungi. Both myristic and lauric acid found in butter and coconut oil have potent germ-killing ability.

In addition, saturated fat helps keep the immune system on guard against the development of cancerous cells as well as infectious agents.

Let’s send a strong message to every major food manufacturer in the world by boycotting their high carb (sugary) products of death. Only then – will they realize that we mean business – enough is enough!

    Great article and I totally agree with you, except for one point–that politicians don’t know what they’re doing. I believe they know exactly what they are doing, but having healthier Americans is not part of their agenda.

    It reminds me of a story I heard recently about a woman who visited her doctor and was told that eating organic food wouldn’t make a difference. She then saw this same doctor at a local health-foods store and he tried to avoid her.

    The same story: Doctors do not follow what they tell their patients. Again, as a survey shows that 90% of doctors would NOT take chemotherapy if they developed cancer.

    Remember, these people know exactly what they’re doing, so what could possibly be their agenda when they tell their patients (and constituents) the exact opposite of what they do themselves. I wonder.

    Sandy, money is what it’s all about. They get kick backs on medication prescritions. And therefore they have the money from patients, to eat properly and most likely not on a lot of prescriptions as their patients.

    Hi,

    I’ve been trying to get my wife who is Type II diabetic to follow my example of getting coconut oil into her body by whatever works ,in a smoothie, in my hot oatmeal breakfast,
    or on organic homemade bread but I’m just talking to the wall.
    I hate to see her not get rid of diabetes which she could do if she wanted but i’m so frustrated. Any suggestions?

    Jack, my 87-year-old Type II diabetic mother gave up animal products and became strictly vegan, and so did I. We ate lots of veggies and some fruit, a small amount of healthy fats like avocados, nuts, and seeds, some legumes, and some but not many whole grains such as brown rice… and NO processed foods. Within a very short time Mom’s diabetes was reversed, and she has been verified as NON-diabetic by A1C blood tests every few months for over 20 months now. Both of us lost weight without counting calories, our high blood pressure went to normal, our high cholesterol went to normal… all our numbers are fantastic! By the way, this was accomplished without coconut oil (or any other oils)… just whole foods!
