(NaturalHealth365) Let’s spread healing love this holiday season. After all, what greater gift is there to give? As you may know, one of my favorite American authors is Leo Buscaglia, also known as “Dr. Love”. Whenever I read his work – it reminds me of what’s really important – especially this holiday season:
”Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.” – Leo Buscaglia
Even if the (greedy) private bankers of the Federal Reserve and their representatives throughout the world have forgotten the values of love and kindness. We all can take a moment to remember the words of Ann Schultz, when she said:
”Let us keep Christmas beautiful Without a thought of greed, That it might live forevermore To fill our every need, That it shall not be just a day, But last a lifetime through, The miracle of Christmastime That brings God close to you”
Don’t ever forget how special you really are
We live in challenging times and although it’s easy to get depressed – especially if you turn on the television. Turn off the negativity and take a moment to remind yourself how precious life really is and read (or listen) to something that lifts your spirits and brings you joy .
I’m often confronted by people that get frustrated or confused about how to improve the quality of their life. They ask me, “what should I do to feel better?” Usually, I suggest a simple change to their diet or way of perceiving the world.
So often, our society places value on keeping busy; always working; earning money or doing daily chores. But, when was the last time a doctor or loved one reminded you about the importance of love? There’s even science to back up the power of love and its ability to heal.
According to the Institute of Noetic Sciences, “The Love Study” demonstrates that loving thoughts and intentions from one person can have a profoundly positive effect on another human being. Simply put, the power of love to heal is very real.
Everyone can benefit from the message of Christmas
Make this Christmas day – a day to remember. Leo Buscaglia gives us a great idea about how to spend our day – when he said:
”What love we’ve given, we’ll have forever. What love we fail to give, will be lost for all eternity.” This simple quote reminds me how important it is to simply love someone today. Don’t wait for tomorrow – it may never come.
I don’t really know what else needs to be said – this holiday season. We all want to enjoy our lives and reach our greatest potential. My hope is that this coming (new) year brings you all the joy and happiness you deserve.
And, finally, from one of the funniest men ever in movies or television – Bob Hope once said:
“My idea of Christmas, whether old-fashioned or modern, is very simple: loving others. Come to think of it, why do we have to wait for Christmas to do that?”
Please feel free to post your “loving” comments below and enjoy this holiday season.
