Safety dangers exposed at vaccine factories

Vaccine Factory Health Alert(NaturalHealth365) Here’s something you won’t find published in the mainstream news – yet it’s true – vaccine manufacturers run contaminated, poorly-managed facilities. These factories fail to sterilize their equipment; allow cross contamination; produce uneven doses – with some vaccine lots having higher amounts of cancer-causing substances.

In truth, the great number of vaccines pushed upon the uninformed public are providing a fertile environment for a doomsday scenario.

Contamination of vaccines are particularly dangerous because all vaccines bypass an intact immune system.

Most organisms enter the body through the mucous membranes of your nose, mouth, pulmonary system or your digestive system. All of these areas have their own immune system with the help of immunoglobulin (IgA). IgA acts like your first line of defense, helping to fight off invading organisms at the point of entry.

Are vaccine producers ignoring safety concerns?

The Prevnar (vaccine) is for the prevention of streptococcus pneumonia and is given to infants 6 weeks and older and adults 50 years of age and older. This means two of the most vulnerable populations are given this vaccine.

Two whistleblowers have accused the vaccine producer of making false statements to the government concerning the manufacturing problems with this vaccine.

Anthony Sokol, a manufacturing scientist was fired after he raised concerns over the vaccine. He claimed that Wyeth had concealed and misrepresented the data it gave to the government.

He stated that they hired large numbers of new employees with limited backgrounds in vaccine production. Because of the complex nature of biological vaccines it takes lots of training to understand the entire process.

Livington, the second worker, complained about the dangerous working conditions which also affected the safety of the vaccine. He pointed out that many manufacturing technicians didn’t want to work in the manufacturing area for fear of the chemicals used in the production process – including cyanide.

Sodium cyanide is dangerous and mixed with water forms hydrogen cyanide, the gas used in the Holocaust chambers. Wyeth uses it in the manufacturing process, but trace amounts remain in the vaccine itself.

Many toxic substances are in the vaccine and some of them aren’t labeled such as sodium cyanide. Unsuspecting parents are never told about the presence of these substances and the harm they can cause. He further stated that “employees have to keep their mouths shut or face losing employment.”

The history of vaccine dangers continues…

Merck Pharmaceuticals, the maker of Gardasil, has been cited with warning letters from the FDA as far back as 2008 for sub par manufacturing practices. As of 2011, Merck was found not to have produced the changes.

The specific manufacturing concerns stated that more than once Merck has failed to check the dosage strength on batches of vaccines prior to distribution. These discrepancies were found in the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine that they produced.

Vaccine risk may be a difficult thing to precisely assess, but – without a doubt – every vaccine includes a significant risk. Merck compounded the risks by not investigating why some batches were outside of specifications and its failure to maintain production and process control, according to the FDA.

They also were cited because vaccine vials were over-pressurized and leaking, while rogue fibers were contaminating some of the vials. In addition, it was found that filters used in the bioprocess had material leaching out.

In 2008, inspectors found cases of contaminated children’s vaccines. Samuel Young – a retired FDA deputy director – stated that vaccine makers were suppose to investigate vaccine lots if their use was associated with either someone losing their life or experiencing a life-threatening event from the shot.

The FDA reported that Merck had failed to investigate such cases. For example, the Merck plant in Pennsylvania was cited for 49 items related to poor manufacturing practices at the facility. I wonder what their doing about all of these problems?

Sanofi Pasteur is the vaccine division of Sanofi – the largest company devoted to human vaccines. They distribute more than 1 billion doses of vaccines a year. And, they are capable of vaccinating more than 500 million people.

They were by far the largest producer of seasonal influenza vaccines in 2012; they provided more than 200 million doses. The U.S. government awarded Sanofi Pasteur a contract to ‘improve’ the egg supply for vaccines.

Sanofl Pasteur restructured its bird flock management so that embryonated eggs would be available to support vaccine production. These can be potentially susceptible to avian influenza so flocks associated with vaccine production are under strict contract and must be completely housed, monitored by veterinarians, and raised under biosecurity regulations.

Can we trust Sanofl Pasteur with our health?

The FDA found objectionable conditions and deviations from good manufacturing practices at Sanofl Pasteur. Bloomberg News reported that the plant was cited with 24 violations including failure to follow procedures to prevent vaccine contamination.

The Sanofi vaccine unit was sent a warning letter from the FDA in July of 2012 containing a laundry list of infractions. The things found were inadequate product sterility and environmental monitoring, unapproved manufacturing changes and a failure to follow training protocols.

Their Canadian plant was sent a warning letter because they failed to follow proper procedures to prevent microbiological contamination of their products or to test products adequately to ensure they all met the same scientific standards.

Safety violations are routine at drug factories and so are filthy conditions. Contaminated vaccines can contain black fungus, wrong dosages and a larger quantity of cancer-causing toxins to be injected into the body.

What’s wrong with this picture?

Vitamins and whole food supplements have a manufacturers name on them, vaccines do not. Pharmaceutical companies spend an enoormous amount of money on lobbyists, lawyers, and media but very little on safety issues. The flu vaccine increases your flu risk

Flu Shot Alert(NaturalHealth365) Many people understand that flu shots aren’t effective. What is less known is vaccinating against one strain of influenza can actually increase the risk of exposure to different strains.

Research in the Journal of Virology found that the seasonal flu vaccine can weaken a child’s immune system and increase their chances of caching influenza viruses not included in the vaccine.

A study published in Science Translational Medicine found a surprising complication of the vaccine design. It was found to increase the risk of contracting the flu – after vaccination.

How does the flu vaccine actually harm the body?

The vaccine is known to cause an overall immune suppression effect. All vaccines are immune suppressors in a variety of ways. The chemicals in the vaccines; the virus even when it’s not a ‘live’ shot; heavy metals and the foreign DNA/RNA from animal tissues can all cause serious health problems.

In fact, scientists suggest, the flu vaccine may actually fuel a pandemic outbreak of the flu.

In 2009, at the beginning of the swine flu panic, a Canadian study revealed that people who had received a regular, seasonal flu shot, were twice as likely to catch the swine flu. This was proven to be true when, in 2010, the results of several epidemiologic investigations showed that the flu shot did indeed increase the risk of coming down with the swine flu.

There were four studies, which were conducted by public health agencies in Canada, involved about 2,700 people in all, and each one had the same result: if you got the seasonal flu shot, you were more likely to get the swine flu. This quote was published by PLoS Medicine:

“…Estimates from all four studies (which included about 1,200 laboratory-confirmed pH1N1 cases and 1,500 controls) showed that prior recipients of the 2008-09 TIV [seasonal flu shot] had approximately 1.4-2.5 times increased chances of developing pH1N1 illness that needed medical attention during the spring-summer of 2009 compared to people who had not received the TIV.”

The Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research (CBER) scientists infected two groups of pigs with H1N1: one group was vaccinated, with a H1N2 shot, while the other group was not. The piglets who were vaccinated produced a wide range of antibodies to block the H1N2 virus, these antibodies not only failed to protect against the second virus, H1N1, but actually help the second virus infiltrate lung tissue causing more severe symptoms and respiratory complications, these included pneumonia and lung damage.

Could avoiding the flu vaccine be better?

The unvaccinated control groups had fewer complications and milder pneumonia. There is an association between the vaccine and respiratory diseases, called vaccine-associated enhanced respiratory disease (VAERD). This has been reported with the formaldehyde-inactivated respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccination, which was followed in the vaccinated group by a wild-type (RSV) infection.

Misleading media headlines

According to virologist Kennedy Shortridge, a professor emeritus at the University of Hong Kong and a pioneer is studying the origin of the flu: “There a number of infectious agents that can mimic flu” and “In many cases, no laboratory diagnosis of influenza is made.”

Epidemiologist Tom Jefferson MD, author for the independent Cochrane Acute Respiratory Infections Group, thinks the incidence of influenza is greatly inflated as it is systematically confused with influenza-like illnesses, which are frequently attributable to other viral and bacterial agents. He goes on to say that confusion of influenza with other like illness has confused the situation and fueled frenzy.

Experts like Jefferson caution against using the words “flu” and “influenza” interchangeably, noting that “flu” is a more loosely defined category that includes viruses that are not influenza-based, but just happen to cause very similar clinical symptoms.

To find out how many cases of influenza-like illness are actually influenza A or B, scientists would need to take a random sample of people diagnosed with influenza-like illness, and then test them for every possible causal agent and illness.

The formal studies are few, but Jefferson has completed calculations based on data from trials for vaccines, and he estimates that, on average, only about 7 percent of those with influenza-like illness actually have influenza.

“The CDC and the media portray influenza as a deadly threat,” he says. “But the data suggest that seasonal influenza is a relatively rare and benign condition, with an incidence not exceeding 1 percent in the general population during autumn and winter months.”

What is the best way to prevent the flu?

To protect against the flu should mean defending the body against all pathogens. The way to do this is to incorporate immune building strategies into your lifestyle. Personal care products causing antibiotic resistance

Antibiotic Resistance News(NaturalHealth365) Triclosan, an antimicrobial pesticide used regularly in toothpaste, hand soap, face wash, body lotion, and cosmetics is being linked to antibiotic resistance strains of bacteria. Why would any (sane) government health agency allow such a toxic substance to be legally sold to the general public?

Where is triclosan – a toxic pesticide – being sold?

Triclosan is a chlorinated aromatic compound – first registered as a pesticide – that received 20 antimicrobial registrations, which the United States Environmental Protctions Agency (EPA) regulates under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act (FiFRA).

The consumer uses of triclosan are in over-the-counter products, which are regulated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FFDCA). The FDA uses are not regulated under the pesticide law. (Gee, I wonder why?)

As a preservative material, triclosan is used in many products such as adhesives, fabrics, vinyl, plastics, toys, polyethylene, polyurethane, polypropylene, rubber, carpeting, footwear, clothing, floor wax and many personal care products.

Let the buyer beware…

Studies have found that use of triclosan encouraged the growth of bacteria that are resistant to amoxicillin, by helping superbugs thrive. In fact, laboratory studies have shown that antibiotic-resistant strains of E. coli and other bacteria can grow in cultures with high levels of triclosan.

Emma Rosi-Marshall, an aquatic ecologist at the Cary Institute of Ecosystems explains: “The bacterial resistance caused by triclosan has real environmental consequences. Not only does it disrupt aquatic life by changing native bacteria community, but it’s linked to the rise of resistant bacteria that could diminish the usefulness of important antibiotics.”

Artificial water stream experiments conducted at Loyola University confirmed field findings that triclosan exposure triggers an increase in triclosan-resistant bacteria.

In addition to the creation of these resistant bacteria, researchers also found a decrease in the diversity of other bacteria and a shift in the composition of bacterial communities.

The destructive cascade continues…

By finding its way into the waterways and entering sea vegetation – the fish that use algae as a food source are then the food sources of other predators including humans.

The prevalence of triclosan, in the water, is a cause for concern since triclosan is converted into dioxin – a highly toxic compound when exposed to sunlight while in the waterways. When this substance is combined with the chlorine in tap water it forms chloroform a human carcinogen.

Don’t wait for the government to tell you – clean up your home (now)

Triclosan is a chemical that’s been in U.S. households for more than 40 years, from the body wash in your bathroom shower, toothpaste, cosmetics to the bedding in your baby’s basinet.

Now the federal health regulators are trying to decide if triclosan, a ‘germ-killing’ ingredient, found in an estimated 75% of all antibacterial liquid soaps and body washes is effective or harmful.

The Centers for Disease Control estimates that 75% of the U.S. population has triclosan in their bodies. It has been found in urine, blood, breast milk and umbilical cord blood samples.

It’s in our bodies through personal use and accumulates in the environment, contaminating surface and ground water. It survives the wastewater treatment process and stays in the water that is dumped on agricultural crops.

Skin deep cosmetic safety database assigns triclosan a hazard rating of 7 with 10 being the highest rating. Triclosan is linked to cancer and is a known endocrine disruptor, with the ability to irritate organs and accumulate in human tissue.

Research, from the University of California and the University of Colorado, linked triclosan to significantly impaired muscle function, finding that it had a “dramatic” effect on the heart, according to the researchers. The most startling finding was that mice exposed to the chemical had a 25 percent reduction in heart function – within 20 minutes of triclosan exposure. The scientist who conducted the research claimed the dosages used were the same as those found in personal care items.

U.S. scientists agree that an FDA review is long overdue. The Endocrine Society, a group of doctors and scientists who specialize in the hormone system, flagged triclosan four years ago as an ingredient that alters levels of thyroid hormones and reproductive hormones like testosterone and estrogen.

Triclosan is restricted for use in Canada and Japan, and the European Union labels it “irritating to eyes and skin; dangerous for the environment; and very toxic to aquatic organisms.

What can we do? Consumers must boycott products with chemical ingredients and buy all natural products or ingredients to make their own household and personal care items. Protect your health – make this a top priority.

Energy efficient light bulbs can cause cancer

Light Bulb Warning(NaturalHealth365) The new energy efficient light bulbs – called compact fluorescent lights (CFL) – are a danger to the public. According to the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), emergency procedures must be followed in the event a light bulb breaks, due to the vapours it will release. But, according to new research, that may be the least of our worries.

Experts speak out about the threat of CFLs

The official EPA broken bulb clean-up procedure attests to the dangers of this new lighting. It states that people and pets must leave the room, open windows to air out the room, and also shut off the central heating or air-conditioning system.

The next advice is to collect the broken bulb pieces and for this you need on hand stiff cardboard, sticky tape, damp paper towels or wet wipes, a glass jar with a metal lid or a sealable plastic bag. It is advised not to vacuum until all other cleanup steps have been done as vacuuming can spread the mercury containing powder or vapour.

You are told, when done, to place debris and cleanup materials along with vacuum cleaner bags, outdoors in a trash container. Some local government require fluorescent bulbs to be taken to a recycling plant. Does this sound like a safe product to have in our homes?

The unknown threats of compact fluorescent bulbs

Money saving, compact fluorescent light bulbs emit high levels of ultraviolet radiation, according to a new study. Research at Long Island’s Stony Brook University found that the bulbs emit rays so strong that they can actually burn the skin and skin cells.

“The results were that you could actually initiate cell death”, said Marcia Simon, a Professor of Dermatology.

Exposure to the bulbs could lead to premature aging and skin cancer, according to doctors. “It can also cause skin cancer in the deadliest form, and that’s melanoma,” said Dr. Rebecca Tung.

“When there is something in your house, you don’t perceive any danger, you wouldn’t get that close to an x-ray in a doctor’s office,” explained Miriam Rafallovich, Professor of Materials Science at Stony Brook.

So now it turns out these bulbs are also dangerous when they don’t break. The protective phosphor coating inside the glass, which gives the glass its milky white look, can be cracked. The UV rays then can escape to cause damage to those near enough to it. The Stony Brook University study found that all the CFL light bulbs they studied had cracks and imperfect phosphor coating.

Prolonged exposure at distances of 8 inches or less can cause both skin and retinal damage.

Now for the newly discovered dangers of ‘energy efficient’ lighting

There are reports from other countries that point to other problems with using energy efficient light bulbs. The latest claims were made by Abraham Haim, a professor of biology at Halfa University in Israel. What he found is that the bluer light that CFLs emitted closely mimicked daylight.

This disrupts the body’s production of the hormone melatonin more that the older filament bulbs, which give off a yellowed light. His warning is that these bulbs can result in higher breast cancer rates when used late at night. This is precisely when lights are turned on and left on.

German scientists claim that several carcinogenic chemicals and toxins are released when these ‘environmentally-friendly’ lights are switched on, including phenol, naphthalene, and styrene.

Naphthalene is a volatile white crystalline compound produced by the distillation of coal tar. It is used in mothballs. Styrene is a petroleum by-product. These along with mercury are known to cause cancer.

Peter Braun, who carried out the test at the Berlin’s Alab Laboratory, said, “For such carcinogenic substances it is important they are kept as far away as possible from the human environment.”

The side effects of energy efficient light bulbs

The reported (negative) health effects of energy efficient light bulbs include: dizziness, cluster headaches, migraines, seizures, fatigue, inability to concentrate and anxiety.

Very little research has been done before these bulbs became available. The FDA reports that in addition to visible light (UVA), these bulbs also emit UVB and infrared radiation.

Measurements by an independent French research centre showed that these lamps (CFLs) generate powerful electromagnetic fields (EMF) close to the source, up to 1 meter distance. The Flemish Institute for Technological Research have confirmed these results.

There are indications that EMFs emitted by CFLs can travel along the electrical wiring producing “dirty electricity’ throughout the house. A study published in the American Journal of Industrial Medicine stated that this dirty electricity can lead to a 5-fould increase in the risk of cancer. This research was found to be true by a Canadian researcher by the name of Magda Havas.

How can United States health authorities allow CFLs to be sold?

Many countries have been able to spot all kind of dangers to this type of lighting including reporting that the radiation directly can attack the immune system and damage the skin enough so it can’t properly produce vitamin D3.

These light bulbs and lamps have the potential to cause and aggravate many diseases and at the same time damage the environment more profoundly than any old fashion light bulb.

Needless to say, stocking up on ‘old’ light bulbs – that are being phased out – may be a great idea for our health.

Fraudulent study connects omega-3 to prostate cancer

Prostate Cancer News(NaturalHealth365) The ‘official’ study linking omega 3 to prostate cancer relied on negligible or non-existent evidence. This study was carried out by researchers from the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, and published in the peer reviewed Journal of the National Cancer Institute. The only problem is – it looks like a fraud!

According to the published reports, this was a well designed study that supports previous research that linked high blood levels of omega-3 fatty acids with prostate cancer. This study suggests a higher risk of prostate cancer among men who eat omega-3 fatty acids, such as those found in fatty fish like sardines and salmon or in fish oil supplements.

This is what they want you to believe

What was reported was that high concentrations of EPA, DPA and DHA – the three best known anti-inflammatory and metabolically related fatty acids derived form fatty fish and fish-oil supplements are associated with a 71 percent increased risk of high-grade prostate cancer an overall 44 percent increased risk for low-grade cancer and a 43 percent increased risk for all prostate cancers.

The study also concluded that a higher blood level of linoleic acid was associated with a reduced risk of prostate cancer. Linoleic acid is the main fatty acid found in vegetable oils such as soybean oil, corn oil and rapeseed oil. It is used for manufacturing margarine, shortening, and salad and cooking oils, as well as soaps, emulsifiers, and quick-drying oils.

There’s only one problem with this study

This so called study amounted to having researchers analyze existing data from the Selenium and vitamin E Cancer Prevention Trial (SELECT) from 2008.

This study had been coordinated by SWOG (the Southwest Oncology Group), a network of more than 4,000 researchers from more than 500 institutions. It was sponsored by the National Cancer Institute (NCI). This study’s purpose was to see if ether vitamin E and selenium prevented prostate cancer.

Time to take a closer look

Taking the data from the SELECT study researchers looked at plasma data from 834 participants with prostate cancer. The original SELECT study’s primary endpoint wasn’t to test the effects of omega-3. The fact is they did not look at the participants’ diet or whether or not they took omega-3 supplements.

The research was based only on samples of a single blood draw; the red blood cell analysis would have given a better picture of long-term omega-3 intake by showing a couple months of eating salmon, for example, instead of what happens in the body after a single meal.

The fact is the difference in mean blood plasma phospholipids fatty acids or omega-3s was 4.66% in the combined cancer group verses 4.48 in the control group. The researchers based their results on just 0.2% difference in omega-3 levels.

The original study had the men complete a questionnaire about their backgrounds and health at the start of the study, while the staff measured their height and weight to calculate body mass index (BMI).The original 2008 test was questionable – at best – and rebranding it as a way to vilify pmega 3 fatty acid amounts to nothing more than a witch hunt.

Let’s challenge the study’s claim

The American diet is high in omega-6 fatty acid; linoleic acid is a pro-inflammatory fat. The findings say that linoleic acid decreases prostate cancer – but the opposite is true – the rates are increasing.

The Japanese have had a low rate of prostate cancer despite a traditional diet that includes a fair share of fatty fish. Males in Japan have some of the highest levels of these fats, and have some of the lowest rates of prostate cancer.

Naturally, as the Japanese men get away from their natural diet of fish, seaweed, and vegetables – the rates of prostate cancer are rising.

The Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) and the Global Organization for EPA and DHA Omega-3s (GOED) spoke out against this study. OED added that “if the findings of this analysis were true, then prostate cancer would be rampant in any country with high seafood consumption (Scandinavia, Japan, etc,) and conversely, low-level consumption should be protective. Clearly this is not the case.”

A good reason not to trust this type of ‘research’

If you look whose behind these types of studies – you come away with a clear picture of why these studies can’t be trusted. The National Cancer Institute, which is part of the National institute of Health, conducted these tests. Why is that a problem?

Because , the National Cancer Institute and the American Cancer Society, both support pharmaceutical companies like, AstraZeneca which profit from cancer-causing drugs like, Tamoxifen.

Healthcare consumers must be careful – do your research

AstraZeneca (formerly known as Zeneca before it merged with the Swedish pharmaceutical company Astra) was owned by Imperial Chemical Industries, a leading international manufacturer of industrial chemicals and carcinogenic pesticides. Teaming up with taxpayer-supported NCI and “charitable” ACS was a masterful public relations coup for AstraZenec.

In 1992, tamoxifen promoter Dr. Bernard Fisher, working for the National Cancer Institute (NCI), received $68 million in federal money to assess whether the drug could prevent breast cancer. Fisher made every effort to make tamoxifen appear save and effective.

But, as if we should be surprised, Fisher failed to report falsified data and enrolment fraud. He made it appear as if tamoxifen reduced breast cancer by 50%, in reality there was only a 1.3% reduction.

The NCI has failed to develop or publicize a registry of avoidable exposures to carcinogens, and has failed to respond to a Congressional request to create one. This is in despite of the fact that they are required to by law (the National Cancer Act of 1971).

A book by a leading cancer expert, Dr. Samuel S. Epstein blames the National Cancer Institute and American Cancer Society of losing the war against cancer in America.

The pharmaceutical industry is seen as having total control over the National Institutes of Health, National Cancer Institute and the Food and Drug Administration. They are known to fund many millions of dollars to bogus scientific studies. They have a budget in the billions and are able to control the media also.

Science is being manipulated for profit

Three ways fruits and vegetables kill cancer cells

Anti-cancer agents shrink tumors and stop cancer

Anti-Cancer Foods(NaturalHealth365) Researchers at Weill Cornell Medical College reported in the journal Nature that these new ‘anti-cancer agents’, found in food, stop the process that cancer cells use to migrate. These new found anti-cancer agents come from more than 40 plant-based compounds.

The study, by pharmacology professor Gary Meadows, was the first to focus on metastatic-blocking foods and supplements. Professor Meadows said,

“We’re always looking for a magic bullet, well, there are lots of magic bullets out there in what we eat and associated with our lifestyle.”

Vitamin D levels determine success in cancer survival

Sunlight News(NaturalHealth365) A paper published in Demato-Endocrinology suggests that a vitamin D deficiency may account for unexplained disparities in cancer survival rates between different ethnic groups. There is a large body of scientific literature supporting the role of Solar ultraviolet (UVB) light and vitamin D in reducing the incidence and mortality rates of many types of cancers.

Scientific research has confirmed the obvious – sunlight exposure and healthy vitamin D levels are good for us. Interestingly enough, researchers have reported that those with higher serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D concentrations, when diagnosed with cancer, have a significantly higher rate of cancer survival.

But, the darker your skin, the more you need sunlight

Conventional science often looks at the roles of socioeconomic status, stage of cancer development and treatment protocols to explain why some ethnic groups have a better chance of surviving cancer or not.

But, up until now, science pretty much ignored the fact that anyone living in the United States, with darker skin pigmentation, has a lower ability to produce vitamin D through sunlight exposure. Why?

You see, a darker skin pigmentation acts like a filter – to the UVB sunlight – and diminishes our ability to produce vitamin D3.

It’s been proven, that dark skin pigmentation, can amount to a 95 percent reduction in vitamin D production. People with darker skin complexions (sometimes) need anywhere from five to ten times more sun exposure to synthesize sufficient levels of vitamin D.

By the way, the scientific data suggests that darker skin individuals are at greater risk for 13 types of cancer including, bladder, breast, colon, endometrial, lung, ovarian, pancreatic, prostate, rectal, testicular, vaginal and other cancers such as Hodgkin’s lymphoma, and melanoma.

New evidence suggests cancer survival based on vitamin D levels

Did you know that the vitamin D nuclear receptor (VDR) influences the expression of over 1,000 genes – including those associated with diseases such as, cancer and multiple sclerosis.

Findings from Germany’s ESTHER study revealed a lower risk of succumbing to disease, when the serum levels of vitamin D levels are adequate. In addition, previously published findings show that people with higher vitamin D levels have lower risks of all degenerative diseases, including cancer.

The rising rate of cancer can be tied to lifestyle choices including the avoidance of sunlight. Unfortunately, in these “modern” times, sunlight exposure goes largely underappreciated in preventing cancer or ensuring survival success – once diagnosed.

Even the American Cancer Society sees the correlation between healthy vitamin D level and better outcomes in breast cancer. They reported that women with a deficiency of vitamin D had a 73 percent decrease in survival.

Patients diagnosed with colon cancer are 50 percent more likely to survive with sufficient vitamin D levels. In addition, many studies have found that patients with high levels of vitamin D were more likely to have thinner skin cancer tumors.

When will the insanity stop! We tell people to avoid the sun – essential for life; feed them toxic food and legally sell cancer-causing (chemical laced) sun block lotions. Yet, we still wonder why cancer rates are so high?

Educate yourself about the best sources for Vitamin D

Being exposed to the sun, your skin will synthesize vitamin D3 sulfate – the best form of vitamin D.

One of the best vegetarian sources is mushrooms, with shitake having the most vitamin D. Other foods rich in vitamin D are, fish like sardines, herring, grass fed beef liver, Atlantic cod and raw dairy. Ricotta cheese has more than most other cheeses. And, yes, supplementing with high quality cod-liver oil is another good choice.

Getting to know your 25-hydroxyvitamin D level is crucial to surviving a cancer diagnosis and ensuring that any supplement you take is “vitamin D3” – not D2.

And, remember, if your primary care physician is in the dark about the value of vitamin D – then get another doctor.

Cognitive functions improve with vitamins and minerals

Dementia News(NaturalHealth365) Alzheimer’s disease patients (and their families) know this is true – cognitive functions don’t improve by taking pharmaceutical medications. In reality, prescription drugs have failed to prevent or halt the progression of this dreaded condition. Billions of dollars have been spent on ineffective drug therapies, while the real answer is in your local farmers market or health food store.

Numbers don’t lie – task force admits failure

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has not cleared any new drugs for memory loss in, at least, a decade.

Approved medicines such as Eisai’s Aricept eased some symptoms – without slowing or stopping dementia. In fact, a joint United States – European Union task force, in 2011, found that all the treatments in the previous decade failed to do their job.

Experimental treatments have also failed. For example, avagacestat from Bristol-Myers; solanezumab from Lilly, and bexarotene, a cancer drug, have all failed miserably. The side effects of bexarotene are, major blood-lipid abnormalities; pancreatitis; liver function test abnormalities; thyroid alterations; fatigue; weight gain; depression; nausea; rashes and constipation.

Do these horrific side effects sound like what Alzheimer’s disease patients really need?

By the way, bexarotene was tried, without much testing in humans, and no one even knew the dosage or dilatation needed to get results plus it failed to help slow down the disease.

Then, big pharma tried to pass off statins as a treatment for Alzheimer’s disease. But, a recent pilot study found that taking statins worsens brain function for Alzheimer’s disease patients as well.

Never forget – the human brain craves proper nutrition

To know what works – you have to understand that Alzheimer’s disease is, in part, brought about by a nutritional deficiency. It is a known fact that nutrients markedly enhance cognitive function.

Alzheimer’s is a disease that will respond to lifestyle changes just like weight management issues; cardiovascular disease; type-2 diabetes and cancer. Nutrients have been shown to normalize insulin levels and prevent metabolic syndrome – which contribute to memory problems.

With vitamin supplementation, older mice showed a level of learning just about identical to that of young mice. Brain mitochondrial activity improved and they became better learners.

Scientist have now isolated the vitamins, minerals, fatty acids, and lifestyle factors that are becoming the best hope of patients. A study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Science showed that vitamins B6 and B12 combined with folic acid slowed brain atrophy that follows Alzheimer’s disease. There are many whole foods with B6 such as, grass-fed beef, potatoes, beans and some cereal grains. Folic acid is found in leafy greens such as spinach, fenugreek, turnip greens, asparagus along with many other fruits and vegetables.

Novel nutritional interventions include magnesium, which plays a role in protecting the brain’s structure and function. The absorbable form of magnesium called magnesium-L-threonate has been shown to rebuild ruptured synapses and restore neuron connections.

Half of all aging individuals are magnesium deficient. Scientists have proven that magnesium is important to the central nervous system and promotes synaptic density and plasticity – which are essential for optimal learning and memory.

Looking for more magnesium in your diet? Be sure to eat plenty of (organic) green leafy vegetables such as, spinach, kale, collard greens and Swiss chard. In addition, eat some nuts and seeds such as, soaked almonds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower, sesame seeds and avocados which are loaded with vitamins and minerals.

Finally, don’t forget, eat coconut oil – which the latest research indicates not only protects against the incidence of Alzheimer’s disease, but can reverse the condition. Pure virgin, cold pressed coconut oil is easy to find and less expensive than a prescription drug.

Talk about wasteful spending – when will they learn?

In 2012, the Obama administration announced new efforts to fight Alzheimer’s disease by immediately making an additional $50 million available for research. In addition, the administration announced, in the fiscal year 2013, it will boost funding for Alzheimer’s disease research by $80 million. Gee, I wonder where all that money goes?

Science has shown that chronic stress can accelerate the growth of cancer cells and promotes angiogenesis – the formation of new blood vessels. How does chronic (emotional) stress feed cancer cell growth?

Let’s take a closer look at “stress hormones”…

A study, published in the journal Brain, Behavior and Immunity links the stress hormone norepinephrine to the growth of the blood vessels that feed tumors.

In a series of studies linking stress hormones and cancer, medical researchers at Ohio State University found that stress amplifies the progression of malignant melanoma, breast cancer, pancreatic, prostate and lung cancer.

It has been shown, in laboratory studies, that beta-blockers for high blood pressure work against cancer because beta-blocker drugs bind to a specific receptor to prevent the stress hormones norepinephrine and epinephrine from reaching their targeted cancer cells. This is not to promote the use of pharmaceutical drugs – but it does illustrate a point. Chronically elevated stress hormones can damage (even kill) the body.

Can chronic stress really damage our DNA?

Researchers from Duke University Medical Center found that chronic stress is associated with chromosomal damage. The hallmark of chronic stress eventually causes detectable DNA damage.

The p53 tumor suppressor protein, which plays a major role in cellular response to DNA damage and is known as the “guardian of the genome,” prevents genomic abnormalities. Studies show that chronic stress leads to a prolonged lowering of p53 levels.

It explains why stress is a double whammy; it damages the DNA, while knocking out the protein than can repair it. DNA is the genetic instruction manual found in all cells, when it becomes damaged the cell can get the wrong instructions and multiply out of control.

The connection between chronic stress and blood sugar

Stress itself causes a rise in blood sugar levels by depleting the adrenal glands. One of the purposes of adrenalin is to remove and convert glucose from cells for energy, and when the adrenaline reserves are depleted, glucose (sugar) levels increase sharply within the cells, cutting down the room for oxygen.

Many studies, including one published in the online issue of The Oncologists, – a study that was so large it included half of all type 2 diabetics in Sweden – found that the risk for cancer increased as the glucose levels edged up.

How to avoid the danger of chronic stress

Let’s keep in mind, chronic stress does terrible things to our immunity. There is plenty of compelling scientific data to suggest that stress can lower our defense against disease. Remember, the answer to cancer is a strong immune system.

Naturally, a healthy diet has multiple ways to alleviate stress. We can’t always avoid stress in our life – but, we can live a lifestyle that minimizes the aftermath of stress.
