Health Benefits of Chlorophyll(NaturalHealth365) Many decades ago, Jay and I used to speak about the (undiscovered) healing power of juices. We didn’t have words connected to the hidden power behind chlorophyll, yet we knew that the dark leafy greens were the powerhouses behind the thousands of people healing from diet-related diseases.

    Linda, I love this article. The one thing that I think should be mentioned is that a green drink can be made sweeter with carrots and apples. This will help anyone not use to drinking a mostly green vegetable juice with a way to still incorporate greens into their diet.

    Leafy dark greens are the most alkalizing food on the planet. The ideal balance of food is said to be 80% alkaline and 20% acidic. Greens are so alkalizing they help neutralize acids caused by eating a highly acid diet of animal protein, white flour products, coffee, and alcohol.

    Linda you are right greens does a body good. When we are slightly alkaline harmful bacteria, virus, yeast and bacteria can’t flourish.

    My Grandma Was Right. The Cure Is In the Kitchen/fb. Parsley is my to go to herb…..I grow it on my front porch and tell everyone I know to increase their parsley intake my 1/4 cup per day. Kids love to grow it, too. Steep it like tea and drink it if detox is need for cancer. It adds oxygen and helps the alkaline ph , especially with lemon as a partner….cancer cannot grow. Great for any fugus condition.

    RMacKay, I blend greens into my smoothies. Since green smoothies are considered healthy, I am sure this is a great way to incorporate them into a diet. At times I juice them as they take even less time to digest.

    No matter which way you include them you will be on the path to great health.

    Linda, there can’t be enough said about the value of dark green leafy vegetables. Chlorophyll contains a large amount of magnesium, also know as an alkalizing mineral, which is required to bring oxygen to tissues.

    Magnesium is needed by the cardiovascular system, nervous and digestive systems as well as hormone secreting glands. In fact every organ depends on it to function properly.

    We are deficient in this mineral and as you point out so well, dark leafy green are a powerhouse of healing nutrition.

    Sandi, I seem to forget parsley when making my smoothies. Now I am going to include it. Since I really enjoy using fresh parsley as a condiment it will make a great addition to my juice and smoothie recipes.
