The study consisted of 3,163 people who suffered strokes with mild to moderate blockages. The average participant age was 63, and 64% were men. The study participants received ginkgo biloba extract treatment in 100 medical facilities throughout China. The heads of the study decided to provide half of the participants with a daily IV shot containing 25 milligrams of ginkgo biloba extract in the 48 hours after stroke. The remainder of the study participants were provided with a daily placebo shot.
The research team then analyzed patients’ cognitive abilities using a 30-point test called the Montreal Cognitive Assessment. The study participants were reanalyzed at two weeks and three months. Those provided with the ginkgo biloba extract injection demonstrated improved mental functionality at the two-week mark.

The cognition gap between those provided with the natural remedy and those with the placebo widened even further by the three-month mark, proving that the extract improves mental functionality. The group provided with the extract enjoyed a 20% hike in post-stroke cognition.
Why aren’t ancient remedies used in Western medicine?
