Print Friendly, PDF & Email

diabetes-care(NaturalHealth365) The chronic blood sugar imbalances generated by diabetes – a disease which affects 29.1 million Americans – can trigger serious and even life-threatening conditions, such as blindness, neuropathy, kidney damage, heart disease, stroke and cancer. Western medicine, with its woefully inadequate nutritional advice and toxic drug ‘therapies’ fail to properly address the situation. But, integrative medicine offers a better way.

Discover a natural (perfectly safe) way to eliminate the threat of diabetes – even if you suffer with type 1 diabetes – you can overcome this dreadful condition. On the next NaturalHealth365 Talk Hour, Jonathan Landsman and Dr. Jody Stanislaw, naturopathic physician and certified diabetes educator will focus their attention on helping people with type 1 and type 2 diabetes lead happier, healthier lives by outlining a plan of action that addresses the physical, emotional and mental components of diabetes.

Learn the “four pillars” of diabetes management that can change your life

More often than not, mainstream medicine’s traditional approach to diabetes has involved a tedious and ineffective “count and cover” method of managing diabetes – in which strict dosages of insulin are calibrated to counter exact amounts of food.

Dr. Stanislaw, who has lived with type 1 diabetes since the age of seven, takes a different approach. In addition to consulting with patients to help them find their ideal, individualized dosages, Dr. Stanislaw also offers what she calls “the four pillars” of managing diabetes to achieve optimal health.

Through diet and lifestyle insights, diabetics learn how to stabilize their own blood sugar levels – which dramatically improve overall energy levels and emotional well-being. Keep in mind, blood sugar imbalances affect all aspects of our life: sleep, energy, attitude and personal relationships. (all of this can improve – with the right plan)

Dietary considerations for diabetes management

Dr. Stanislaw advises an organic, low-carb diet based mainly on high-quality protein – such as free-range chicken, grass-fed beef, and wild-caught salmon – along with an abundance of vegetables and healthy fats, such as avocados, nuts, seeds, coconut and olive oil. Can a vegetarian overcome a diabetes diagnosis? (Yes, you just need to make smart food and lifestyle choices)

This is going to be a show so many people need. I have too many friends that are type 2 diabetics. They depend on medication and do little on their own to address this disease.

  • Bob Ferman

If someone can manage type 1 diabetes than everyone should be able to manage type 2 diabetes. There is no excuse for not making an attempt to do so.

  • Deb Mayer

I think there is no magic cure for this condition. It takes work not pills. The people who care enough about themselves will make an effort. This is not just about diabetes, but what it can cause.

It is tied to heart disease, blindness, gum disease, foot problems and immune dysfunction. It may be a challenge to make lifestyle changes, but the conditions it can cause will be more of a challenge.

There is a reason for the epidemic we are seeing of this disease. It has to do with all the processed foods. Most if not all include one or more of these ingredients-glucose, dextrose, corn syrup, high dextrose corn sweeteners and other synthetically produced sweeteners.

  • Tyler Henkel

The American Diabetes Association say there will be more blindness, Kidney failure and lost of mobility. They want Americans to know that there is an epidemic and many complications from this disease.

There solution is to lower the age for screening for diabetes. What other solution would you expect from the medical community. Now, everyone can be on prescriptive drugs at an earlier age. Problem solved.

What if type 2 diabetes is on the rise, because of diet and lack of exercise. What if the diets the doctors recommend are wrong. I have seen them recommend low fat or no fat diets. Others recommend a no carb diet as the solution.

The natural state of complex carbohydrates, which means more whole fresh vegetables and fruit contains a lot of fiber. This type of fiber means a slow rate of release of sugars as opposed to the rush of sugar, which occurs with processed foods.

The lack of B vitamins combines with lack of minerals such as chromium and vanadium in a processed food diet means people are missing the glucose tolerance factor.
The final missing factor is exercise, it makes cells more responsive to insulin.

My doctor recommends diet drinks. This should do the trick and my fasting sugar level will be normal. Since I only drink water that must be the problem. Conventionally trained doctors are not only useless, but harmful.

Sugar has a targeted appeal, and the modern trend is to exploit this. Latte’s, bakery items and processed household stables are full of sugar. Research predicts that global dairy alternative will amass over 36 billion dollars in sales by 2024.

Consumers can find dairy-free products such as snacks, desserts and dietary supplements. The trend to dairy-free includes dairy free ice cream. This includes so Delicious, Ben & Jerry’s new dairy-free Non-Dairy ice creams. Most of Breyers so called ice creams are dairy free.

Free of saturated fat and full of sugar is the way to go according to food manufacturers. Thanks for promoting an alternate way to health.

The best of diabetic friendly foods produced by the processed food manufacturers are adulterated products not fit for human consumption. Thanks for a very informative program.
