Federal court rules government can force medical treatments based on beliefs, not facts
(NaturalHealth365) A federal appeals court just handed down one of the most troubling rulings in modern medical freedom history. The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that government officials can mandate medical treatments based on what they believe will help, regardless of whether those treatments actually work.
The case involved Los Angeles school employees who challenged the district’s COVID shot mandate after losing their jobs for refusing the shots. These workers argued the shots don’t prevent transmission or infection, making any public health justification invalid.
But here’s where it gets scary: the court said it doesn’t matter if the shots work or not. As long as government officials believe a medical intervention might help public health, they can force it on you.
What the court actually said
Judge Bennett, writing for the majority, made it crystal clear: “Jacobson holds that the constitutionality of a vaccine mandate … turns on what reasonable legislative and executive decisionmakers could have rationally concluded about whether a vaccine protects the public’s health and safety, not whether a vaccine actually provides immunity to or prevents transmission of a disease.”
Let that sink in. The court essentially ruled that government beliefs matter more than scientific facts.
The dissenting judges understood the dangerous precedent being set. Judge Lee warned this decision “comes perilously close to giving the government carte blanche to require a vaccine or even medical treatment against people’s will so long as it asserts – even if incorrectly – that it would promote ‘public health and safety.'”
The slippery slope we’re on
This ruling opens the door to virtually unlimited government control over your medical decisions. If authorities can mandate any treatment based on their beliefs rather than evidence, where does it end?
Could they mandate psychiatric medications to “improve public morale?” Force cholesterol drugs on teachers? Require specific diets or exercise routines? All they need to do is claim it’s for public health.
The court’s reasoning would allow officials to mandate medical interventions even when they know those interventions don’t work, as long as they can claim they believed they would help.
What makes this case different
The employees weren’t arguing against all shots. They made a specific point: COVID jabs function more like treatments that reduce symptoms rather than traditional shots that prevent disease transmission.
That distinction matters legally and medically. Traditional shots are thought to create community protection by stopping disease spread. Treatments help individuals manage symptoms but don’t protect others.
The court dismissed this crucial difference, essentially saying the government can call anything a “vaccine” and mandate it under emergency powers.
The bigger picture
This case reveals how far we’ve drifted from basic constitutional principles. The government is supposed to be limited in its powers, not granted unlimited authority over citizens’ bodies.
The dissenting judges got it right when they pointed out that accepting this logic gives the government “a blank check to foist health treatment mandates on the people – despite its checkered track record.”
We’ve seen that checkered track record play out over the past few years. Officials made confident claims about treatments that later proved wrong. They changed definitions, moved goalposts, and now courts are saying none of that matters.
Natural solutions for immune protection
While courts debate what the government can force on you, you still have control over building your natural immune defenses:
Prioritize sleep quality. Your immune system does its most important work during deep sleep. Create a consistent sleep schedule and eliminate blue light exposure before bedtime to support natural immune function.
Manage stress effectively. Chronic stress suppresses immune function more than almost any other factor. Find stress-reduction techniques that work for you – whether that’s meditation, exercise, time in nature, or connecting with loved ones.
Support your microbiome. Your gut houses 70% of your immune system. Feed beneficial bacteria with fermented foods, fiber-rich vegetables, and avoid processed foods that damage gut health.
Get adequate vitamin D. This isn’t a vitamin, but a hormone that regulates immune function. Most people are deficient, especially during the winter months. Consider testing your levels and supplementing appropriately.
Include immune-supporting foods daily. Garlic, ginger, elderberry, citrus fruits, and leafy greens provide compounds that support natural immune function without side effects.
Stay physically active. Regular moderate exercise boosts immune function, while excessive exercise can suppress it. Find the right balance for your body and lifestyle.
Your health, your choice
This court ruling reminds us that we can’t depend on institutions to protect our medical freedom. The responsibility falls on us to make informed decisions about our health and to support our bodies’ natural defense systems.
Building robust immune function through natural means isn’t just good health practice – it’s an act of independence. The stronger your natural immunity, the less you need to rely on treatments that may be mandated by authorities operating on beliefs rather than evidence.
Your immune system is your body’s most sophisticated defense network, but supporting it requires more than just eating well – it demands comprehensive strategies for optimal function.
