NH365 094: GMOs revealed – The truth about our food
(NaturalHealth365) What exactly are genetically modified foods, or GMOs, doing to our health? Will this ‘new’ way of growing food – developed by the biotech industry – actually live up to the promise of feeding the world and reducing our dependency of toxic farming chemicals? Or, does this modern technology pose a serious threat to our digestive system, immune function and the environment?
No doubt, the future of our food supply is at stake and GMOs represent one of the most hotly debated health topics of our time. Today, on the NaturalHealth365 Podcast, we’ll look into this topic with a man that is on a mission to educate the world about how our food quality is changing – at an alarming rate. And, GMO technology is at the heart of all this change.
We’re also going to give you immediate FREE access to a stunning 9-day docu-series that exposes what’s really going on with our food supply – on a global scale – and exactly what you need to know to avoid getting poisoned and sick.

The basic facts about GMOs – read carefully!
In the U.S., three major commodity crops are raised predominantly from GMO seed: field corn (92%*), soybeans (94%*), and cotton (94%*).
*Percentages are based on United States acreage as of 2015 (USDA)
Did you know that almost 98% of Canadian grown Canola is genetically engineered for herbicide resistance? United States grown sugar beet production is estimated to be over 95% genetically modified for herbicide resistance. Plus, as you may know, GMO sweet corn, papaya, zucchini, and yellow summer squash are sold in grocery stores, but in smaller amounts.

In addition, often overlooked, genetically modified alfalfa is grown for use as hay and forage for factory farm-raised animals. This is a huge source of GMOs in the diet – if one is not careful with food choices.
A relatively ‘new’ development: ‘White Russet’ brand potatoes, genetically modified to resist bruising were introduced to some grocery stores in 2015 and genetically engineered non-browning ‘Arctic’ apples have been deregulated by the United States Department of Agriculture – making its way into the marketplace since 2016.
Other source of GMOs include:
- Dairy products from cows injected with the GM hormone rbGH
- Food additives, enzymes, flavorings, and processing agents, including the sweetener aspartame (NutraSweet) and rennet used to make hard cheeses
- Meat, eggs, and dairy products from animals that have eaten GM feed
- Honey and bee pollen that may have GM sources of pollen
- Contamination or pollination caused by GM seeds or pollen
Some food ingredients that may be genetically modified: vegetable oil, vegetable fat and margarines (made with soy, corn, cottonseed, and/or canola)
Ingredients derived from soybeans: Soy flour, soy protein, soy isolates, soy isoflavones, soy lecithin, vegetable proteins, textured vegetable protein (TVP), tofu, tamari, tempeh, and soy protein supplements.
Ingredients derived from corn: Corn flour, corn gluten, corn masa, corn starch, corn syrup, cornmeal, and high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS).
There is also a long list of other foods that can easily have ‘hidden’ sources of GMOs – which is why we encourage all of our NaturalHealth365 readers to educate themselves about this important topic.
