By the way, bexarotene was tried, without much testing in humans, and no one even knew the dosage or dilatation needed to get results plus it failed to help slow down the disease.

Then, big pharma tried to pass off statins as a treatment for Alzheimer’s disease. But, a recent pilot study found that taking statins worsens brain function for Alzheimer’s disease patients as well.

Never forget – the human brain craves proper nutrition

To know what works – you have to understand that Alzheimer’s disease is, in part, brought about by a nutritional deficiency. It is a known fact that nutrients markedly enhance cognitive function.

Alzheimer’s is a disease that will respond to lifestyle changes just like weight management issues; cardiovascular disease; type-2 diabetes and cancer. Nutrients have been shown to normalize insulin levels and prevent metabolic syndrome – which contribute to memory problems.

    The FDA don’t want no one to get well, they are making money off of everything they approve of. People need to learn to eat healthy and control their own life. Prescribed pills are killing us and over the counter, we need to get back to the natural herbs GOD gave us. I am not against doctors, God gave them the knowledge to help us, but some are prescribing more medicines than we need to make commission on them. I was taking 8 medications a day, and now I am down to 2 by exercising and eating healthy. There is to much toxins in processed killings americans and it leads to alzheimers, cancer, heart attack etc. Great article above by Lane, extra good information.

    Don’t forget turmeric, the yellow spice found in mustard and Indian food, spiked with red cayenne pepper to make it more bioavailable. People from India have a far lower incidence of Alzheimer’s if they stick with a traditional Indian diet, but the incidence climbs rapidly when they change to a standard American diet. Turmeric has other health benefits so even if Alzheimer’s doesn’t run in your family it might still be a good idea along with the well known preventive measures: exercise, frequent mental stimulation, constantly learning something new, and enjoyable social interaction.
