Herbs for Chronic Fatigue(NaturalHealth365) Over a million people in the United States are currently diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS). Do CFS patients really need toxic antidepressant medications?

In an animal study published in 2000 in Phytomedicine, ashwagandha extracts performed as well as Ativan, a benzodiazepine, to reduce anxiety. Researchers also found that ashwagandha’s antidepressant effect was equal to that of imipramine, a pharmaceutical medication sold under the name Tofranil. Noting that ashwagandha reduced brain levels of tribulin, a chemical marker of anxiety, researchers concluded that the study supported ashwagandha’s use as both a mood stabilizer and an anti-anxiety therapy.

In an animal study published in 2002 in Journal of Medicinal Food, ashwagandha, in conjunction with other herbs, restored brain levels of natural antioxidants and measurably reduced the oxidative stress that contributes to chronic fatigue.

Scientific studies continue to confirm the effectiveness of Ayurvedic herbs

As useful as ashwagandha is in fighting CFS, it is not the only rasayana herb that has received scientific attention. Rhodiola rosea, the root of a plant that grows in Arctic regions, is also used in Ayurveda to restore neurological function, enhance energy, reduce fatigue, alleviate depression and restore natural sleeping patterns.

According to NYU Langone Medical Center, rhodiola may help people function better when they are under stress. The medical center cites a double-blind, placebo-controlled study in which 56 physicians on overnight duty who were given rhodiola were able to retain higher levels of mental function than the placebo group.

Noted herbal authority Chris Kilham, points out that extensive clinical studies have confirmed that rhodiola increases strength and stamina while promoting mental clarity. Like ashwagandha, rhodiola combats chronic fatigue syndrome on many levels, and does so without serious adverse effects.

Yet another Ayurvedic herb alleviates “brain fog,” enhances memory and lifts mood.

Brahmi, scientifically known as Bacopa monnieri and also called Indian pennywort, is prized in Ayurveda as a mental tonic to treat Alzheimer’s disease, age-related cognitive deficits, and chronic fatigue syndrome. Researchers have found that constituents called bacosides have a relaxant effect on veins, allowing for enhanced blood flow and supporting mental clarity, concentration and focus.

Are there any clinical studies supporting brahmi’s benefits?

Yes. In a double-blind placebo-controlled study published in 2008 in Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine, 300 milligrams a day of bacopa extract were given for six weeks to elderly volunteers. Using a battery of diagnostic tools, including the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale and the Rey Auditory Verbal Learning Test, researchers found that those in the bacopa group had enhanced word recall memory scores.

Researchers noted that the group who had taken bacopa had declining levels of depression and anxiety; in the non-bacopa group, levels continued to rise. The team noted that bacopa had potential for safely enhancing cognitive performance.

How can I use these herbs for chronic fatigue?

Although ashwagandha, rhodiola and brahmi are generally safe, they can interact with other herbal remedies, prescription medications and supplements. Naturally, it’s best to consult a trusted doctor before using these herbs to treat chronic fatigue syndrome, and follow dosage instructions carefully. And, of course, make sure to obtain your herbs from a reputable source.

The unpopular truth about cholesterol-lowering medications

Medical test predicts risk for chronic disease

Medical Test Predicts Disease(NaturalHealth365) Ever wonder what your health may look like – in 10 years? Believe it or not, there is a test that can predict a person’s risk of chronic disease. So, at your next medical appointment, ask for a C-reactor protein (CRP) test – which measures inflammation.

Key point: Excessive cellular inflammation, left unchecked, will lead to disease and premature death.

C- reactive protein (CRP) is a marker of inflammation, and high levels are found in practically every known chronic disease condition. Even if you have no symptoms of disease, excessive inflammation increases your risk for cardiovascular disease, rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn’s disease, cancer, Alzheimer’s, diabetes and a host of autoimmune disorders.

Keep in mind, CRP is both a marker and a cause of inflammation. And, most people don’t know, CRP levels are very strongly correlated to survival – in patients with cancer and cardiovascular disease.

What can C-reactive proteins tell us about health?

C–reactive protein is manufactured throughout the body – especially by immune cells, the liver and fat cells. It’s an early indication of an inflammatory stimulus like either an infection or tissue injury. When either one occurs, CRP levels rise.

CRP is a very sensitive marker of general inflammation. It is used to track the progression of chronic inflammatory conditions like rheumatoid arthritis and Crohn’s disease. In truth, increased symptoms, paired with a rise in the CRP levels, indicate a flare up of these conditions.

What every heart patient needs to know

C-reactive protein levels are closely correlated with cardiovascular disease. There were studies; which showed patients with the highest CRP levels were at a 45% increase risk of heart disease compared with those with the lowest levels.

CRP levels have been shown to predict serious complications in patients with coronary artery disease. It has been found that people with high levels were 60% more likely to develop ischemic heart disease.

According to the New England Journal of Medicine, CRP outperforms LDL cholesterol levels as a predictor of cardiovascular risk. A study in the March, 2000, New England Journal of Medicine concluded that C-reactive protein was a better predictor of cardiovascular events (heart attacks, strokes, bypass surgery or angioplasty) than other inflammatory markers.

In fact, studies have shown that CRP is present inside most arterial plaques, heart lesions, and after a stroke or heart attack.

Should cancer patients check their CRP levels?

There is a growing interest in CRP – as a predictor of a variety of cancers. With the discovery that cancer is associated with overall inflammation, this is a useful tool to predict overall risk.

In the first, large prospective study of its kind, Danish researchers report that people with high blood levels of C-reactive protein have a 30 percent greater risk of developing any cancer later in life, and were associated with a higher risk of developing lung and colorectal cancers, compared with people with low CRP levels.

Researchers also found that among people with cancer, those with high CRP levels, prior to their diagnosis, were 80 percent more likely to die sooner than people with cancer who did not have elevated CRP.

Those patients with elevated levels of CRP are more likely to have lymph node and distant metastases, invasion of blood vessels and nerves along with a higher stage diagnosed.

With a CRP greater than 5mg/L, only 13.3% survive for 5 years, while 57% of patients with lower CRP survive for 5 years and longer. CRP levels are the only independent predictor of disease free survival.

Demystifying the CRP test

The CRP test is a simple blood test, taken at a lab, and then analyzed. It is a test that should be taken two separate times about two weeks apart. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommends using the average number of two readings for a number of reasons.

The CRP levels are easily influenced by infection or wounds, since each of these raise the level and diet can also effect inflammation – at the time of the test. Optimal CRP levels are under 0.55 mg/L in men and under 1.0 mg/L in women. This is an important test for one simple reason; it give us instant feedback about the quality of our lifestyle.

The best way to lower your CRP level

Lifestyle is the best predictor of one’s CRP levels. A 2013 study found that diet, exercise, stress level, alcohol and tobacco use influenced C-reactive protein levels. Exercising alone has been shown to be effective in bring down C-reactive protein.

Vitamin C has been shown to reduce plasma CRP levels as well as curcumin, fenugreek, ginger, L-carnitine, magnesium, probiotics, omega-3 fatty acids, quercetin, vitamin D, vitamin E (alpha-tocopherol), zinc and resveratrol.

Smart meter home installation causes fire and death

Smart Meter(NaturalHealth365) Most people are still completely unaware of the dangers of a smart meter. This wireless technology constantly exposes all of us to highly-charged, radiofrequencies – which increases our risk for home fires, cancer and a constant invasion of our privacy and security.

Naturally, utility companies like Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) suggest that smart meters will ‘modernize our current electric grid into a Smart Grid that is safe, more reliable and more efficient.’ But, as you will soon see, nothing could be further from the truth.

Recently, I asked Jerry Day, a consumer rights advocate – how can utility companies get away with threatening our health, safety and privacy? Listen to a portion of my exclusive interview with Jerry Day – below:

Can a smart meter really cause house fires?

Simply put, yes! On July 9th, 2010, Larry Nikkel lost his life – one day after a smart meter was installed on his home. I was so moved by this story, that I had to post the entire account here – thanks to the hard work of Josh Hart, Director of StopSmartMeters.com.

WHEN SMART METERS KILL: THE STORY OF LARRY NIKKEL
Details Emerge of Vacaville, CA Smart Meter Fire Death

SAN FRANCISCO – Details have come to light of a man killed by a Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) Smart Meter that caught fire in Vacaville, CA on July 9th, 2010. Larry Nikkel of 230 Arbor St. died from a suspicious electrical fire that consumed his home the day after Wellington Energy, contractors for PG&E, installed a Landis & Gyr “smart” electric meter. A wrongful death suit lawsuit filed by the family against the utility, subcontractor, and meter manufacturer has now been settled for an undisclosed sum.

The circumstances surrounding Mr. Nikkel’s death add a grave and tragic chapter to the growing human cost of the ‘smart grid.’ The following account is based on interviews with his brother Walter, as well as details obtained by the fire incident report, investigation, and coroner’s report.

Larry Nikkel worked for more than 30 years as the groundskeeper at Solano Community College, and was well liked in Vacaville by those who knew him. He was in a rock band in the Seventies called The Panties who played gigs all over the East Bay. Larry loved his rock music and he loved his 1958 Gretsch guitar (the same kind as Chuck Berry played). The guitar- worth thousands- was given to Larry by a co-worker at the College, underscoring how much he was loved and admired by those who knew him.

Larry was diagnosed with throat cancer in early 2010 and had just finished his chemotherapy treatment at the time of his death. The day before he was killed, he had submitted the paperwork to retire from his job at the Community College. On July 8th, 2010, according to neighbors, Wellington Energy came through and deployed electric smart meters all along the street, including on Larry’s house. Less than 48 hours later, Larry was dead- killed by smoke inhalation and burns from an unexplained electrical fire that consumed his home.

According to his brother Walter, who had spent time with Larry at his house the morning before the fire (and only hours after the smart meter was installed), there were serious electrical problems in the house that day. Larry had tried to boot up his laptop to watch a DVD that evening, but the computer would not function. The cable box did not work either. Walter and Larry both heard a very loud, high pitched “snap” coming from the wall. Later that night, after Walter had returned home, he received a call from Larry, who said that the ‘house was humming.’ He regrets to this day not coming over immediately to investigate what was wrong.

At about 10:30pm on July 9th, a man walking down Arbor St. saw flames coming out of Larry’s house. The man opened the garage door to see if anyone was inside but this caused the fire to “flash” and so he was forced to retreat and call the fire department. By 10:40, fire fighters were on the scene. After battling the fire, crews entered the house and found Larry’s body in the hallway bathroom, under a dresser (which Walt speculates he may have pulled on top of himself to shield against the heat). He had shoved towels under the door, and the water was running in the sink. He was on the floor, having succumbed to smoke inhalation and burns. Larry had placed his beloved guitar in the bathtub, where perhaps he hoped it would survive the flames (it did).

Walter remembers hearing a lot of fire engine sirens that night and wondering whether there was a large grass fire in the area. He received a call from Larry’s neighbor at about the same time, and immediately got a bad feeling. He got in his car and when he arrived at his brother’s house, the house was charred and blackened and Larry’s body was already in a bag. Walter was distraught and started to open the bag but was stopped by the police. “Why aren’t you working on him??” he remembers yelling at the emergency responders.

The official Pathology Report notes that the cause of death was smoke inhalation and thermal injuries (burns):

Smoke Inhalation:

1) soot in the nose, mouth and ears
2) soot in the larynx, trachea, and respiratory tree
3) small amount (of) soot in the esophagus
4) viscera and blood bright cherry red
5) Blood co saturation 50%

Thermal injuries

1) First degree burns on left upper chest
2) First degree burns on upper back, right and left
3) First degree burns right and left shoulders and upper arms

Larry Nikkel was officially pronounced dead at 11:04pm on July 9th, 2010.

The official cause of the fire- according to the Vacaville Fire Department’s Investigation was “undetermined, but was most likely caused by an electrical problem”.

About a month after the fire, Walter met Ken Burton at the house. Ken was the former bass player in Larry’s band, a friend of the family and also a retired fire fighter. Walter had noticed that his brother’s swamp cooler had fallen to the ground from the window, and was not burned except that the motor was charred, and the belt was melted to the pulley. The two speculated that something had caused the power cord to become so hot that it caught the plywood that fit in the window on fire, and this quickly spread throughout the house.

While they were talking, a fire truck pulled up and Vacaville Fire Dept. Battalion Chief Jansen came up to them. He asked how they were doing, and walked back to the charred breaker box, where two of the breakers were found tripped right after the fire. He asked them if they were aware that the “smart” meter was installed on Larry’s house the day before the fire. It turned out that PG&E had hurriedly removed the meter following the fire.

A month later, Walter was clearing the neighbor’s grape vine out of his tree. That night he started hearing loud buzzing and humming sounds coming from his wall. He immediately called PG&E, who sent a lineman out and discovered that the neutral wire was off the pole. (Walt figures he accidentally pulled the wire off). As a result, 2 TV’s, and a DISH DVR player were fried because of over voltage.

Suddenly, it clicked for Walter. The humming and popping noises. The electrical problems. The “smart” meter having been installed the day before the fire. His brother Larry had died because of PG&E’s smart meter. He did an internet search for “smart meter hazards” and put two and two together, finally grasping what likely killed his brother.

According to electrical engineers, the popping, humming, and appliance damage are all telltale signs of an electrical problem caused by arcing, possibly from a meter that was not installed properly. Arcing can lead to fires and explosions. (As we documented six months in late 2010 in our interview with a whistleblower from Wellington Energy, workers were encouraged to ignore safety hazards and only had 20 hours of training, violating FCC requirements that smart meters be installed by a professional electrician). Larry’s death appears to be a direct result of the kind of violations uncovered by the whistleblower, whose reports were summarily ignored by the CA Public Utilities Commission.

On June 10th, 2012, the Nikkel family filed a lawsuit against Pacific Gas and Electric, Wellington Energy, and Landis & Gyr meter manufacturers, alleging negligence and wrongful death.

The case was settled out of court earlier this year, showing that the utilities and meter manufacturers were alarmed about the potential to lose the case, as well as more terrible publicity related to their meter program. The settlement- though not ideal as it avoids a verdict that might force the utilities to compensate others who have suffered smart meter fires or even recall the meters- has nonetheless provided a sense of closure to the family, who would have had to live through the pain of Larry’s loss once again during a trial.

Meanwhile, the number of smart meter fires has continued to grow. Last year, a Stamford CT woman lost five members of her family after a fire likely started by their ‘smart’ meter. Twenty-four hours later, her home was bulldozed, eliminating any evidence that could have been collected showing why the deadly fire started (and preventing future fires) In August 2012, Peco Energy of Pennsylvania was forced to suspend its deployment after at least 26 separate incidents where newly installed smart meters had caught fire or exploded. The EMF Safety Network has tracked many of these fires here, and we have documented a number of these incidents at StopSmartMeters.Org.

A June 15th 2012 presentation by the Ontario Fire Marshal[1] analyzes the numerous smart meter fires being reported in Canada and abroad and states:

“We encountered an unusual amount of fire incidents involving smart meters…prior to any proper investigation the utility company had removed and replaced the meters from the affected areas…New meters may have defects that cause electrical failures (or they may be caused by) careless installation during change over…”

It’s fairly clear by now that there is another major safety problem with smart meters- aside from RF radiation pulses. Hundreds of fires, explosions, and other electrical problems have been documented. Pre-market safety testing simply did not happen in the rush to harvest stimulus funds and corporate profits. The process of third party safety testing might have uncovered these problems before they ended up killing people, but unfortunately UL certification was never sought. In cases of fire, the utility’s strategy has been to blame faulty household wiring, a candle, hot ashes, anything to take the focus away from the smart meter. Homes with old or vulnerable wiring seem to be especially at risk, and surely the utilities know this by now. But they do not warn, and they do not inspect.

If we had responsible utility companies that prioritized health and safety, smart meter deployments could have included a safety check of the socket and wiring. Unfortunately such caution would have required professional technicians to work longer hours- a cost the utility company refused to bear. They can’t seem to have anything get in the way of their guaranteed 11.5% annual returns on shareholder investments (in the case of PG&E). Sadly, for whatever reason most fire departments have failed to investigate smart meter fires as a systemic problem that requires a systemic solution. Meanwhile more homes burn and more people die.

When the Nikkel case came to the attention of Stop Smart Meters! we immediately connected the family with a lawyer and started to try and obtain documents from the Vacaville Fire Dept. Unfortunately, multiple attempts to get a copy of the investigation failed, even when requested by members of Larry’s own family. The attorney for the case- David Kyle- who won his own small claims court case against SCE- said he’s never seen such reluctance to release these kinds of documents. It finally took a subpoena and legal threats to obtain the investigation, something that a bereaved family should not have to go through simply in order to understand why their loved one died.

Unfortunately despite pledges of safety and reform from PG&E and the CPUC following the horrific explosion in San Bruno that killed a dozen people and razed an entire neighborhood, the same decisions are still being made- trading people’s lives for shareholder profit. You needn’t live near a gas pipeline to be at risk. This time it is a device that is being installed on most everyone’s home, in every neighborhood.

While PG&E and other utilities install unsafe devices that are costing some their homes and their lives, the CPUC- led by the industry itself in the form of Mr. Michael Peevey- looks the other way. Such inaction in the face of overwhelming evidence of mortal risk is truly criminal. Let’s make sure that Larry, and others who have lost their lives in the name of the ‘smart grid’ are not forgotten, and that we honor their memory with action and political change.

Fortunately, according to scientific research, there is real hope for chronic renal disease sufferers – using uncontaminated green healing clay to reverse this dreadful health condition.

How does clay help reverse kidney disease?

Clay minerals actually help to lower the phosphate levels in the body. In a series of laboratory trials and cell culture experiments, it was proven that the high phosphate-binding capacity of the clay minerals was not only as effective as traditional pharmaceutical methods, but was better tolerated.

There are natural treatments for chronic kidney disease, but not all of them are safe or work well. Thanks to the mineral content, clay works well at lowering phosphate levels without negative side effects.

People suffering from chronic renal insufficiency are required to take phosphate binders with food. In the stomach and intestines, these medications bind to phosphates, from food, so they can be excreted (undigested) instead of being absorbed.

Obviously, these medications cause negative side effects, such as increased calcium levels in the blood, constipation and nerve problems. And, let’s not forget, we’ve written extensively about the dangers of excess calcium.

The good news is researchers from Fraunhofer Institute for Cell Therapy and Immunology and Fim Biotect developed a treatment which can be tolerated by patients. They found that clay, from volcanic ash deposits in the Friedland area of northeast Germany, was just as effective as conventional phosphate binders plus safer to use. This means it can be used for longer periods of time and actually help patients stabilize and improve their kidney function.

The healing power of clay

Clay, especially bentonite, has been used medicinally for centuries, but only in recent years has it been viewed as having powerful healing properties.

Natural healthcare practitioners have used clay to help detoxify the digestive system, clear away bacterial pathogens, eliminate parasites from the intestines, increase T-cell count, neutralize free radicals, remove heavy metals plus assist in alkalizing the body.

Bentonite clay toothpaste removes unwanted oral bacteria, helps to kill off infections and promotes healthy gums. Bentonite clay masks draws out excess oils and debris, boosts circulation to tighten the skin and simulates cellular regeneration.

Applying the clay, externally, anywhere will revitalize the cells and help them to release toxins. Clay baths pull the stirred up toxins from the body through the pores. Living clay has strong electromagnetic power, which can pull toxins from soft tissue for elimination.

Taking the clay internally absorbs any fresh toxins ingested before they are assimilated by the bloodstream. All three methods can work together to restore balance.

However, mixing bentonite clay with a little water will produce a seriously thick paste. As you continue to add water, it will continue to thin out and disperse in the water. If you take it internally you must drink water throughout the day. The dosage is anywhere from a ½ to 1 scant teaspoon.

Some of the best foods to eliminate unwanted toxins

Diet soft drinks cause heart disease in women

Diet Soda Alert for Women(NaturalHealth365) Since writing about the 9 legal weapons of mass destruction, I think it’s about time to expand the list. For starters, I would say diet soda is the deadliest beverage on Earth. As if kidney damage and weight gain weren’t enough, diet drinks are now being implicated in heart disease among women.

Women are under attack by the food and beverage industry. Playing on their concerns about appearance and weight issues – many women tend to consume lots of diet soft drinks – which put them at a higher risk for heart attacks, blood clots and other cardiovascular problems.

Is conventional science lying to women (and men)?

I’ll let you decide. According to Katherine Zeratsky, R.D., L.D. – from the Mayo Clinic:

”Drinking a reasonable amount of diet soda a day, such as a can or two, isn’t likely to hurt you. The artificial sweeteners and other chemicals currently used in diet soda are safe for most people, and there’s no credible evidence that these ingredients cause cancer.”

She goes on to say…

”Some types of diet soda are even fortified with vitamins and minerals. But diet soda isn’t a health drink or a silver bullet for weight loss. Although switching from regular soda to diet soda may save you calories in the short term, it’s not yet clear if it’s effective for preventing obesity and related health problems.”

In my opinion, this is blatantly deceptive and clearly shows a lack of nutritional intelligence. How could any health professional suggest that drinking artificial sweeteners (and chemicals) are ‘safe’ and ignore the facts?

According to a large study, artificially sweetened beverages – including diet sodas and low-calorie fruit drinks – were a cause for alarm. These findings come from a study of nearly 60,000 healthy post menopausal women living in the United States. I’ll bet most dieticians (and nutritionists) that recommend diet soda have never read this report.

Drinking diet soda increases your risk for premature death

The study found women who drank two or more diet drinks a day were 30 percent more likely to have a heart attack or other cardiovascular event, and 50 percent more likely to die, than women who rarely touch such drinks.

According to the lead author, Dr. Ankur Vyas, a cardiovascular disease expert at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinic:

’Our study suggests an association between higher diet drink consumption and mortality. People who drank diet sodas had a 70 percent greater increase in waist circumference over a few years compared to those who skipped soft drinks. This alone may be part of the reason diet drinks are associated with heart disease.’

Good science is clearly telling people – ‘beware of diet soda’.

The University of Miami and Columbia University researchers followed 2,500 plus New Yorkers for 10 years. The volunteers were over 40 and never had a stroke. At the start of the study, the participants indicated the amount of diet soda they drank.

At the end of 10 years, the daily diet soda drinkers were more likely to have had a stroke or heart attack and to have died from vascular disease. The increased risk remained even after the study investigators accounted for smoking, exercise, weight, sodium intake, high cholesterol and other factors that contribute to heart disease.

The results were published online in the Journal of General Internal Medicine. In a study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, French researchers found an association between type-2 diabetes and diet soda.

Researchers from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and Columbia University Medical Center claim those who drink diet soft drinks are 43 per cent more likely to have heart attacks, vascular disease or strokes than those who have none.

Why does diet soda threaten the heart?

There are few things that contribute to the diet soda risk. For example, animal studies show that the caramel coloring contained in diet sodas causes vascular problems. Most of the diet soft drink market consists of diet soda.

Women who drank diet soda excreted more calcium in their urine compared to women who drank water. Calcium is essential for normal muscle and nerve function and for blood clotting.

Diet sodas contain mold inhibitors, which are not found in regular sodas such as, sodium benzoate and potassium benzoate. Sodium benzoate has the ability to deactivate parts of our DNA and can damage the mitochondria within our cells. And, we all know, mitochondrial deficiencies reduce cellular energy and promote all forms of disease.

In addition, artificial sweeteners such as aspartame have been clearly tied to pulmonary hypertension, systemic hypertension, and frequent cardiac arrhythmias. Almost nothing could be more toxic to the human body than artificial sweeteners – which are available in thousands of supermarket items.

How can we test for Candida overgrowth?

A simple blood test can help. You’ll want to check your levels for IgG, IgA, and IgM Candida antibodies. These can be checked through most labs. High levels indicate an overgrowth of Candida.

Stool testing can check for Candida in the colon. The lab can usually determine the species of yeast as well as which treatment will be most effective. Just make sure that your doctor orders a ‘comprehensive stool test’ rather than the standard variety.

The urine Organix Dysbiosis test detects a waste product of Candida yeast overgrowth known as D-Arabinitol. An elevated test means an overgrowth of Candida. This test will determine if there is Candida in your upper gut or small intestines.

The spit test can be done at home. The first thing, when you wake up in the morning, is to put some saliva into a glass of water, before you put anything into your mouth.

If the saliva floats it is fine, but if within 15 minutes you notice projections extending down into the water it is said to be a sign that your are harboring the invasive form of Candida. If the water turns cloudy, your spit sinks to the bottom of the glass or you’re seeing strings – you are looking at a Candida problem.

What’s the best way to treat Candida?

Effectively treating Candida involves stopping the yeast overgrowth, restoring the friendly bacteria that usually keeps them in check, and healing the gut.

Getting rid of the Candida overgrowth primarily requires a low sugar diet. Sugar is what feeds yeast, so eliminating sugar in all of its simple forms is a must. Cut out pasta, bread, baked cookies, muffins, bagels and most, if not all, processed foods.

Generally speaking, overeating creates a high residue of undigested food – which feeds opportunistic organisms such as Candida. And, don’t eat fast.
