(NaturalHealth365) Simple juicing combinations are sometimes the most potent in helping to keep our bloodstream clean, our hearts healthy and our digestive systems working efficiently. Do Jay and I juice at home by using only simple juice recipes? The answer is yes and no.

Sometimes we do put in six or seven different foods, but most of the time it’s never more than three or four.  By the way, if you’re looking to lose weight quickly (and safely) – juicing is a great place to start.

Are more ingredients a wise choice?

Most of us think that the ‘more ingredients’ the better. This is sometimes not the case. Sometimes too many ingredients counteract with each other, making assimilation less effective. For example, green powders that you can buy at the health food stores have up to 35 different kinds of greens and fruits.

Many experts such as Dr. Walker and Dr. Kirschner, Jay’s mentors back in the early 1950s, said simple is best. Too many nutrients can be too much for our systems to absorb, so Jay has been teaching us that simplicity when it comes to juicing is the most effective way to feed our cells of our body.

The importance of proper juice combining

Secondly, proper juice combining is crucial to absorption, yet 99% of the teachers on the internet and most authors are not seeing the wisdom in juice combining. The real reason is that they haven’t been following the great ‘Master Teachers of Juicing.’

Luckily, Jay is going to be 93 in August, and actually spent many years following these great teachers (mentioned above).  Just as juice combining is vital, proper food combining is highly effective in weight loss and being highly effective in better absorption of nutrients.  In order to improve your metabolism, I encourage you to find ways to clean out your liver naturally with an intelligent juicing program.

Simplifying your home for healthy results

Other more transforming ways of simplifying is when we take this concept and expand it into our home and lifestyles.

For example, Jay has told me so many times: “Live simply so others can simply Live.”.  He loved this saying.  You see, Jay was born in 1923 and was raised by his parents – who migrated from Yugoslavia during the big depression.

His father was a fisherman and his mother was a homemaker.  They made simple meals and lived simple lives.  There were no computers back in those days, much less a cell phone, laptop, iPad or even the beginning concepts of television.

Life was so simple, that listening to the radio in the evening was the big event. This made socializing with family members, cousins, aunts, uncles and neighbors more enjoyable and valuable, as well as taking daily outings by hiking, walking and having simple fun outdoors.  Even I found this to be the best fun I’ve ever had and I was born in 1955.

In our book, Live Foods, Live Bodies, the beginning page says: ‘The simple life is the best life.’  It’s so true!

We speak a lot about this in our book. We speak of simplification, we emphasize creating a living kitchen which means, reorganizing your kitchens in an effective way so that we naturally reach for fruit, and we naturally reach for the cleaned and organized produce from our fridge when hungry. We also speak of loss and how to overcome loss and re-create a new you. Juicing really does transform our lives and lifestyles … from the inside, out!

Understanding how to achieve long-term success

When we live ‘simply’ we slowly begin to appreciate the great gifts from nature such as naturally becoming more attuned to mother nature.  For example, we begin to see the trees, animals, fruits, nuts, seeds, greens, pure foods and just the simple pleasures of listening to the wind or sitting by a brook very differently.

Our appreciation for nature helps us resonate and become more attracted to juicing, to eating a simple diet and living a simpler life, which in turn creates authentic, relaxed and joyful living, leaving us empowered with sustained vital health.

Also we can appreciate a much deeper joy when we simplify our life not just with foods, but also with things we own, by culling through what we have accumulated for many years, if not decades, with items we don’t even use anymore. Our garages are stuffed with things we no longer use, and a lot of us pay huge amounts of money every month, keeping them in storage because we are convinced they are useful and some of these items are difficult to part with, but most of them aren’t.

Juicing can literally improve every aspect of our lives

Some experts say that when we have too many possessions, the possessions possess us, and it’s true! If our home is not clean and simplified, most of us become frustrated, irritated and fall into negative thinking. Our outside life reflects our inner life, and I know it’s hard to believe, but when we clean up and simplify our outer lives, our inner lives change dramatically leaving room for a real and permanent change in our lives.

It doesn’t have to happen overnight. Little by little is sometimes the best medicine. Yet some people decide overnight and then go for it. Either way, please remember, the entire family needs to help! Not just Mom. Once the entire family gets involved, things can easily get done more holistically.

Remember, there are thousands of people looking for good clothing, furniture, kitchen items that they really need, and if we don’t really need them, why not let them go as to help others who are less fortunate than we are?

So, today I’d like to share several simple juice combination that work well.  They are designed to help cleanse our digestion, our liver and our bloodstream.  Keep in mind, these recipes are designed for one person.

Simple tonic #1

• Carrot (8)
• Celery (6 ribs)
• Spinach (1 cup)

Simple tonic #2

• Beet (1/2 med.)
• Apple (2)
• Ginger Root (1/2 inch)

Simple tonic #3

• Cucumber (1 large)
• Kale (3 large leaves)
• Celery (8 ribs)

Simple tonic #4

• Orange (2 peeled)
• Pineapple (1/4 peeled)
• Ginger Root (1 inch)

Simple tonic #5

• Celery (6 ribs)
• Cucumber (1 large)
• Parsley (1 cup)

Make 32 ounces* of this tonic – every day – for a week and you will notice a significant difference.  Just try to make sure your produce is organic.  Plus, if you like, you can add ginger root or lemon to make it taste tangy.

*Exception: the orange/pineapple tonic is a bit too sugary to do 32 ounces. 24 ounces is the max recommended.
